DTI Foundation celebrates the successful implementation of the first TPM Basilicata Course, held in Matera from 17 to 19 June 2026. This initiative aimed to strengthen the regional donation and transplantation network through specialized training for healthcare professionals.

The course was promoted by the Centro Regionale Trapianti della Basilicata, the Assessorato regionale alla Salute and the Azienda Sanitaria Locale di Matera, and was developed according to the international standards of Transplant Procurement Management (TPM), a globally recognized training model in the field of organ donation and transplantation.

Throughout the course, physicians and nurses involved in donation coordination and organ and tissue procurement participated in an intensive training programme designed to strengthen competencies, share best practices and improve the organizational response of the regional network.

This first course represents an important milestone for Basilicata, reflecting the region’s commitment to investing in professional training as a key element to build a stronger, more coordinated and more efficient donation and transplantation system.

DTI Foundation congratulates all organizing institutions, faculty members and participating professionals for their commitment to continuous improvement, healthcare training and the development of donation and transplantation systems capable of generating real impact in society.

Specialized training is an essential tool to transform systems, strengthen local capacities and create more opportunities for life through donation and transplantation.
