The TPM Advanced Course offers a highly practical, immersive and participant-centred learning experience. Thanks to its residential format, small-group work and strong emphasis on experiential and contextualised learning, the programme enables healthcare professionals not only to acquire knowledge, but also to transform their professional practice in a meaningful way.
Residential and immersive experience
This is a fully residential course, designed to create an immersive learning environment. Living and learning in the same setting allows participants to:
- Maintain continuous dialogue and encourage peer learning.
- Build strong professional relationships.
- Extend learning beyond the classroom into informal settings.
The course venue is Montanyà Hotel by Senator.
Experiential learning: “learning by doing” in small groups
The course places strong emphasis on experiential learning, where participants actively apply concepts to practice through:

- Small-group work, ensuring interaction, engagement, collaborative learning opportunities and a safe environment for discussion, feedback and reflection.

What is the Transplant Procurement Management Advanced International Training Course?
The TPM Advanced International Training Course is an immersive training experience aimed at healthcare professionals who wish to learn and/or strengthen their knowledge and skills in organ and tissue donation and transplantation. It combines high-level academic content, a practical approach through participatory workshops and international exchange.
In which language is the course delivered?
The course is delivered entirely in English, so a professional level of English is required.
Who is this course aimed at?
It is aimed at healthcare professionals linked to the field of donation and transplantation, such as transplant coordinators, intensivists, emergency professionals, recovery unit staff, programme managers and other specialists interested in this field.
Can I participate if I have no previous experience in donation and transplantation?
Yes. Previous experience is not essential, although it is recommended to have some professional connection or interest in the field of donation, transplantation or related specialties.
What will I learn during the course?
The course provides a comprehensive overview of the donation and transplantation process, from donor detection and assessment to donor management, the family approach, organ recovery and preservation, tissue donation, living donation, ethics, legislation and organisational models. It also provides practical tools that can be applied in the professional environment.
Does it include practical or hands-on training?
Yes. The course has a practical and interactive approach, combining theoretical sessions with case discussions, simulations, role-play, workshops and small-group work.
What makes the methodology special?
The methodology combines prior preparation through the virtual classroom and the TPM Manual with an intensive, participatory, face-to-face experience focused on the practical application of knowledge.
Who is part of the faculty?
The course is delivered by national and international experts with extensive experience in donation and transplantation, including coordinators, clinicians, programme managers and professionals from leading institutions and scientific societies.
What certificate will I receive?
Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a diploma from TPM-DTI Foundation. In addition, accreditation has been requested from the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education — EACCME®.
Are there any discounts available?
Yes. ESOT members receive a €100 discount on the tuition fee.
What does the tuition fee include?
The tuition fee includes full-board accommodation, with a hotel room and all meals, at the course hotel, located in a natural setting on the outskirts of Barcelona. This residential format encourages interaction with faculty and participants, promotes networking and combines academic and social activities.
Is the room single or shared?
The tuition fee includes a double room for single use, with a private bathroom, to ensure greater comfort during the stay.
Can I request an adapted menu for allergies, intolerances or special dietary needs?
Yes. Menus can be adapted to allergies, intolerances and other special dietary needs, provided that these are communicated in advance to the coordination team.
Are Halal or Kosher menu options available?
Yes. Specific requests, such as Halal or Kosher menus, can be assessed in order to offer the most suitable option in each case. We recommend communicating this sufficiently in advance.
Are transfers included?
Yes. The programme includes organised transfer from Barcelona city to the course hotel on the start day, as well as return transfer from the hotel to the airport at the end of the programme.
Are flights included?
No. Flights are not included and must be arranged individually by each participant.
Is the number of places limited?
Yes. Places are limited and allocated according to the registration date. The balance of nationalities is also taken into account in order to preserve the international nature of the course.
