We are delighted to inform you that Hyogo Kidney Disease Countermeasure Association in collaboration with Transplant Procurement Management organized a TPM-model Organ Donation Workshop in Kobe, Japan, on September 10-11, 2016. The workshop was attended by 22 participants from 15 different centers and was very well received.

foto-curs-japan16The local team leaded by Dr. Kazumasa Yoshinaga, previous Professor of Emergency Medicine/Community Medicine, Hyogo College of Medicine, included: Dr. Mikiko Yoshikawa, Dr. Takahiro Atsumi, Dr. Takaaki Osako, Dr. Takuro Hayashi, Dr. Shigeru Sano, Dr. Miho Takechi, Dr. Hiroki Takeda, Ms. Naomi Ogawa, Mr. Ichiro Sasaki, Ms. Yuki Imamura, Ms. Rei Otsubo and Ms. Mai Doi, most of them ex-TPM alumni.

Our team included three experts: José María Domínguez, Chief of the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit at Hospital Virgen del Rocio in Seville, José Luis Escalante, Director of the Transplantation Program, University General Hospital Gregorio Marañón, Madrid, and Melania Istrate, educational specialist, TPM and University of Barcelona, Spain.

The training program was followed by hospital visits of our team of experts in Kobe (University Hospital and Children’s Hospital) and in Himeji, at the Steel Memorial Hirohata Hospital.
