Talk for transplanted people: medication post transplant
DTI organized a talk which gave patients the opportunity to talk about their experiences with medication post transplant. This month we talked about medication and the changes in the routine and habits of someone who has received a transplant.
The talk hosted both healthcare professionals and patients. Marta Gubau, was invited to explain her experience after a heart transplant. Lorena Santulario, Pharmacist specialist in hospital pharmacy, referent in cardiology and heart transplantation, and Sílvia Ibáñez, Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplant Nurse, both from Hospital Universitary de Bellvitge, offered a talk on the types of medicine patients take after a transplant and their use as well as offering tips to make this change in the routine easier; and Dr. Chloë Ballesté, Medical Director in DTI Foundation, moderated the session.
These Talks present the opportunity for patients, families and friends to share their experiences and ask professionals about their doubts. These conversations provide a warm and welcoming space for patients and their loved ones to discuss their experiences, advice on how to face these challenges, and tips alongside doctors, professionals, and members of the DTI Foundation.
Patient talks are offered for free online, and are offered in Spanish and English. These talks are offered monthly. More information and links to sign up for talks can be found on our website, social media and newsletter.
