The President of the Foundation has the role to represent the Foundation worldwide throughout different kind of activities such as participation in congresses as invited speaker as well as directing training activities and cooperation programs around the world. He is also a very important figure inside this organization, the reference person who leads and guides the Foundation. Martí Manyalich is a Medical Doctor, PhD and has more than 30 years of experience in the field of organ, tissue and cells donation and transplantation. Nowadays, he is the assessor on transplantation in the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, as well as Associated professor at the University of Barcelona- Medical School. He is also a member of several International societies and his expertise in this field is globally recognized.

Dr. Chloë Ballesté is the Medical Director of DTI Foundation, where she leads the coordination of various working areas to improve global networks for organ and tissue donation and transplantation. Her role includes overseeing international projects and implementing strategies that ensure the optimization of processes in these fields.
In addition, she serves as an associate professor at the Department of Surgery and Surgical Specialties at the University of Barcelona, where she trains students and healthcare professionals while leading undergraduate and postgraduate programs in organ, tissue, and cell donation and transplantation. This position allows her to address global challenges in the field of transplantation by educating the next generation of professionals.
With a solid background and international experience in the donation and transplantation sector, Dr. Ballesté has played a key role in the development of educational projects and the improvement of healthcare systems worldwide. Since 2006, she has collaborated with TPM-DTI Foundation and the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, where she contributes her expertise in training healthcare professionals and developing programs that have a direct impact on healthcare systems. Additionally, she is a member of the Council of ESOT (European Society for Organ Transplantation), actively contributing to the development of policies and strategies to improve donation and transplantation across Europe.

Manager of the Foundation, responsible for coordinating and managing the economic, administrative, legal, human resources, and ISO 9001 quality policy areas. Works to ensure efficient management aligned with the foundation’s mission.
Graduated in Political Science and Administration, with a postgraduate degree in Institutional and Political Communication. Specialized in foundation management, leading nonprofit activities, project management, and fundraising. He has completed executive training in Leadership and Social Innovation at ESADE, acquiring strategic tools for the management and development of third-sector organizations.

Innovation & Strategy Advisor and Trustee of DTI Foundation
Doctor in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and specialist in Clinical Pharmacology. He holds a degree in Medicine, a Master’s in Biomedicine, Biotechnology, and EU Law, and a diploma in Health Economics from the University of Tromsø (Norway). He has completed the Executive Development Program (PDD) at IESE and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School (Novartis Management Program).
He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of CIBER Bioengineering, Biomaterials, and Nanomedicine at ISCIII and, since December 2021, has been part of the Management Committee of ITEMAS (ISCIII). He actively participates in various Project Evaluation Committees for innovation, such as EIT-Health, MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 Europe, and The Collider (Mobile World Congress), among others.
Currently, he serves as Director of Innovation at the Global Health Institute in Barcelona and as a Senior Innovation Consultant at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona since 2015, driving projects in the fields of biomedicine and digital health.

Ricard Valero, MD, PhD, coordinates the foundation’s research in both its educational and international cooperation areas, advising team members on the research direction of their activities, while enhancing the scientific aspect of the Foundation. He leads the Foundation’s Scientific Committee and is also a member of the Advisory and Consulting Committee and a founding member of the Board of Trustees.
Dr. Valero is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the field of Anesthesiology, part of the Department of Surgery and Surgical Specialties at the University of Barcelona (Division IV). Additionally, he is responsible for Neuroanesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona. It is also important to note that he has been collaborating since 1990 in the Transplant Coordination at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona.

Dr. David Paredes Zapata is a distinguished nephrologist with extensive experience in organ donation and transplantation. He holds a Master’s in Organ and Tissue Transplantation from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and is European Certified as a Transplant Coordinator.
Currently, he works as a Consultant in the Donation and Transplant Coordination Section at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona and serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery and Medical-Surgical Specialties at the University of Barcelona.
His expertise and knowledge have been instrumental in his collaboration with DTI Foundation, where he has contributed as an expert consultant, helping to drive safe and efficient practices in organ donation and transplantation on an international level.

The Institutional Relations area aims to improve the Foundation’s positioning and image, as well as maintain and secure grants and funding. It is also responsible for promoting volunteering within the Foundation and organizing solidarity actions to attract sponsors.
She holds a degree in Romance Philology and is a Translator-Interpreter from the UAB. Additionally, she has completed a course in Economic and Administrative Hospital Management at EADA. Since 1984, she has experience in Hospital Management, having worked as Head of Economic Administration and Client Management at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, and since 1993, as the Economic and Administrative Manager of the TPM project. She is a founding member of the Board of Trustees of the DTI Foundation.

She has been the TPM Courses Coordinator since 2004. She holds a degree in English Philology from the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona. She has also completed an Executive Assistant program and a Master’s in Translation. With a solid background in languages and extensive experience in training coordination, she has demonstrated strong skills in project management, course organization, and team leadership. Her career makes her a key figure in the continuous improvement of TPM courses and the educational strategy of the foundation.

Dr. Álvarez works at DTI Foundation coordinating international cooperation projects to improve organ donation and transplantation networks worldwide, while also participating in training and innovation activities.
Brian Álvarez, MD, is a specialist in intensive medicine and organ donation and transplantation coordination with training in Argentina. He has extensive experience in intensive care as well as in organ and tissue donation. With a strong passion for teaching, he has developed over the years the teaching profile and pedagogical knowledge that make him a quality professional. He completed the International Master’s in Organ, Tissue, and Cell Donation and Transplantation at the University of Barcelona.

Joaquim holds a degree in Biotechnology from the University of Barcelona and in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the Pompeu Fabra University. He has also completed the International Master’s in Donation and Transplantation of Organs, Tissues, and Cells at the University of Barcelona and a Master’s in Project Management at LaSalle (Ramon Llull University).
Currently, he collaborates in the development of new proposals and the coordination of projects within the Research and Development Department. In some of these projects, he also actively participates in research, providing support to research teams to drive innovative initiatives in the field of organ donation and transplantation.

Dr. Mauricio Galvão is a Medical Doctor (MD) and Doctor of Medicine (PhD) in Renal Transplantation. With extensive experience as a nephrologist and intensive care consultant since 2004, he has played a key role at the Hospital do Rim (Brazil), the world’s largest renal transplant center. Currently, he serves as a senior advisor on organ procurement protocols in Abu Dhabi and as a Medical Professor at the Potiguar University.
At DTI Foundation, he collaborates on international cooperation and training projects, bringing his expertise in organ transplantation and donation. He also advises on the implementation of OPOs (Organ Procurement Organizations) and quality protocols, acts as an auditor for healthcare and educational programs, and conducts research in transplantation, organ donation, and innovative teaching methodologies.

Clara carries out the tasks related at Assistance of the President, managing and coordinating the events and meetings where the President is involved.She is also in charge of the Presidency communication, aswell as monitoring the agreements in which the President is related.
She has a Law Degree from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a Postgraduate in Conflict Resolution and Peace Culture from the Peace School (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona). She has a background in management and administration.

Additionally, responsibilities include coordinating and implementing Erasmus+ projects, ensuring compliance with the objectives and requirements set by the European Commission.

Seow Huey works in coordinating training, research, consulting, and other cooperation and development activities of DTI in China. She holds a degree in Biology and a Ph.D. in Molecular Epidemiology. Previously, she worked on an EU project developing and implementing a postgraduate program on organ donation and transplantation in Southeast Asia.

Carles holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Barcelona and a Master’s in Project Management from LaSalle (Ramon Llull University). He has experience in project management and is currently involved in coordinating international cooperation projects for the Foundation.

She is a Psychologist of Education, and she is strongly convinced of the transformative power of education and training.
She has led a teaching department in educational leisure and has coordinated In-Company masters’ and postgraduate degrees. She has also designed and implemented educational projects, worked on communication campaigns for the European Commission in engaging key stakeholders.

Isabel holds a degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Barcelona and has completed the Master’s in Organ, Tissue, and Cell Donation and Transplantation at DTI Foundation. She is part of the Research and Development department, where she collaborates in creating new projects to promote research and increase tissue donation for research networks. Additionally, she is responsible for managing the Foundation’s clinical webinars.

Sonia graduated in advertising from the University Ramon Llull. Her experience has always focused on the organization and coordination of projects, as well as its administrative management.
In the Foundation’s Administration Department, she works on financial aspects related to suppliers and clients. Likewise, she provides support to the Training department, overseeing communication with students and participants of the courses that the foundation organizes.

The Department of administration manage all aspects related to the financial part of the Foundation, both of suppliers as clients.
Working at the Foundation since 2009 as administrative assistant she has experience in the field of administration and training in international secretariat. She is also responsible for the registration of participants to the TPM courses and coordinator of those who attend advanced courses in Spain.
