DTI Foundation offers tissue banking consultancy program addressed to public and private institutions, regions and countries to create new tissue bank facilities or to improve the already existing ones.
The consultancy program adopts a well-rounded approach based on the European Quality System for Tissue Banking (EQSTB), taking into consideration the quality and safety key points that are essential in each step of the tissue banking activity.
The components available in this program include legal and regulatory framework analysis, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP’s) development, management planning, specialized training for establishments’ personnel, clean rooms and establishment design, quality systems and audit reports. They can be provided individually or in an integrated approach according to needs and requests.

The diagnostic study aims at evaluating organizational, structural and educational situations and needs and identifying the deficiencies. Data collection is done by means of in-situ visits and personal interviews with the stakeholders.
Recommendations for development and improvement actions that can be implemented in different phases will be formulated and provided.

Global health standards.
Tissue banking activities must be performed in particular means that ensure the safety and quality of the tissues. In Europe, the European Directives are to be followed. In countries where the ethical and regulatory framework is lacking or incomplete, these areas need to be properly defined and known before anything else.
People, processes and financial management.
Clear medical activities, responsibilities and suitable professional roles are crucial to foster organizations sustainability and development. The areas to be developed will be defined together with the local team and after the diagnosis of the situation. The consultation aims at improving efficiency and effectiveness of the system by developing SOPs, focusing on the professionals’ involvement and management factors.

Conceptualization and establishment.
Consultation on various crucial components on the design of tissue bank facility that take into accounts the needs, local resources, available staff, tissues to be processed as well as on providing a safe work environment and ensuring the quality of the tissues.
Evaluation, improvement, organization.
On top of SOPs, Good Manufacturing Principles (GMP), qualified manufacturing environment, presence of key personnel such as quality manager and production manager are among the basis for the quality system. The consultation will focus on establishing a quality and auditing system based on the identified needs, in compliance with the international standards and regulatory requirements.

Diagnostic study and TPM professional training in tissue banking.
This program combines the diagnostic study which analyzes the development of tissue bank and professional training.
In-situ visits and interviews with authorities will be carried out to identify the potential of tissue bank development. A comprehensive report with conclusion and recommendations for development or improvement actions will be provided.
Customized training is designed for healthcare professionals who work in the tissue bank according with the educational needs identified and adapted in concordance with the areas of involvement, procurement or tissue processing.
